A couple months ago I was talking thru email with a out of town friend. We were discussing our beliefs. While our belief in God falls in line on most points there are a couple we do not see eye to eye on. We both agreed that we liked to have a discussion and would not take any comments as a personal attack. The main point was in the last chapter in Mark. Yeshua listed several things that His believers would do. One of the was talking in tongue or new languages depending on the translation. She believed that since she does not talk in tongue that it was not an important part of being saved. I simply pointed out using the translation that she uses what Yeshua said. I never said that she was not saved only what the Word of God said. She did not take what I said she read into it and decided what I meant instead. She went on and said that she felt offended and did not want to talk to me any more and we have not talked since.
Say what you mean do not mean what you say. Gods word always says what He means. We do not have to try to figure out if He means something else.
My friend did not like what His word said so she simply disregarded it. How many people do you talk to that just likes this part so they go with it and want to ignore the parts they do not like. You have to God in the whole. He does not accept just part of us and we cannot just take part of Him. His word even says if a part of you keeps on sinning that it is better for that part to be cut off and thrown into a fire instead of you buring in hell.
Imagine if everyone said exactly what they meant instead of beating around the bush. We would not have to try to figure out what they mean.
